As part of his visit to Brussels, Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov has met with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini to discuss the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the EU.
FM Mammadyarov reiterated that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to the development of relations with the EU, and pointed out the cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest, including in energy, transport, trade, and humanitarian ones.
The sides underlined the constructive continuation of talks on cooperation agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan, expressing their confidence that the agreement will give an impetus to comprehensive development of bilateral relations.
FM Mammadyarov briefed the EU High Representative Mogherini on the settlement process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying he will meet with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in Paris. He hailed the EU’s stance for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
They also exchanged views on the issues on regional and international agenda.
