One of the most important components of elections is not to create obstacles to media activity, creating conditions for journalists to perform their professional activities. Azerbaijan is among the countries that follow these principles. In your country, media participation in the election process is ensured in accordance with international standards.

Abdulrahman Al Ajmi, a media counsellor and writer on the last page of “Al-seyassah” newspaper, said this in his statement to the seli-2024.az website.

A media counsellor of Kuwaiti journalist who follows the processes in Azerbaijan noted that the most interesting point for him in the elections is how the activities of the media are regulated. The experience of Azerbaijan is quite positive.

“In the pre-election campaign, the media gives space to candidates both free and paid. This is a perfect approach, especially not making any distinction between candidates, ensuring equality is one of the important factors. At the same time, the Central Election Commission is quite open to the media. This prevents problems in providing the public with information. “On the day of the election, the fact that journalists have the opportunity to closely monitor the voting process and even participate in the counting of votes can be considered as an example at the international level,” said writer on the last page of “Al-seyassah” newspaper.

Abdulrahman Al Ajmi emphasized that when viewed objectively from the outside, it is more clear that Azerbaijan is a country with democratic traditions.

“In my opinion, the February 7 presidential elections will be a ceremony of democracy and Azerbaijan will once again demonstrate its election tradition,” the Kuwaiti journalist.
