The Japanese have thanked Azerbaijan

On June 19, a presentation ceremony for the Japanese-language edition of “A Strategy Called Azerbaijan” by Azerbaijani author Alibay Mammadov was held at the Academic Salon of the Kinokuniya Shinjuku Bookstore in Tokyo, Japan.

The organizers stated that the event was arranged due to the book’s strong sales performance, growing interest in Azerbaijan-related topics, and its high ranking in the bookstore’s weekly sales charts. They noted that Azerbaijan has recently attracted considerable attention in Japan, with this interest becoming evident across various fields.

During the event, it was emphasized that Azerbaijani oil reached Japan for the first time on May 11. Against the backdrop of regional geopolitical tensions, this development was described as a significant contribution to Japan’s energy security. Speakers expressed their satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan and conveyed their gratitude to the Azerbaijani people.

At the same time, the successful presence of Azerbaijani wines in the Japanese market was highlighted as another indicator of the strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

As part of the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to sample traditional Azerbaijani cuisine. It was noted that A Strategy Called Azerbaijan provides readers with extensive information about Azerbaijan’s history, culture, economy, business environment, and relations with Japan. The book has also contributed to giving Japanese readers a more comprehensive understanding of Azerbaijan and increasing interest in the country as a tourist destination.

During the event, it was announced that the author’s new book is expected to be published by August.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Alibay Mammadov thanked the organizers and participants, signed copies of his book, and presented them to readers.

It should be noted that A Strategy Called Azerbaijan explores topics such as geopolitics, energy security, wars, diplomacy, and public administration. The book analyzes the outcomes and achievements of Azerbaijan’s balanced foreign policy in regional and international relations.

Alibay Mammadov has been living in Japan since 2012. He studied political science at Hokkaido University and was a recipient of a Japanese government scholarship. In addition to being a conflict analyst and Chairman of the Japan-Azerbaijan Cooperation Association, he has been actively involved in diaspora activities for many years.
