As part of the visit to Israel carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of the “Gənclərin Töhfəsi” Public Union presented a letter of appreciation and a souvenir on behalf of the organization to Liat Shohat, Mayor of Or Yehuda, and Deputy Mayor Jana Cohen on September 8.
As part of the visit, various publications on Azerbaijan were also donated to the library of the Or Yehuda City Hall. Books in Hebrew and English covering such topics as the political legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Victory in the Karabakh War, the Khojaly genocide, Azerbaijani culture and cuisine, as well as the country’s history and national values, were presented to the library. The books were published by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The donation of the books to the city library was described as an important step toward introducing the history, culture, and national heritage of Azerbaijan to the Israeli public more closely. It was emphasized that the presentation symbolized friendship, mutual respect, and cultural ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Israel.
Deputy Mayor of Or Yehuda Jana Cohen spoke about the existing relations of friendship and mutual respect between Azerbaijan and Israel, particularly highlighting opportunities to expand ties between young people and civil society organizations. She noted that joint projects and initiatives implemented by youth organizations could play an important role in strengthening mutual understanding and relations between the two peoples.
She also spoke about prospects for future cooperation, noting the importance of organizing a conference dedicated to Azerbaijan-Israel relations in the future, as well as developing joint cooperation between youth organizations operating in Israel and the “Gənclərin Töhfəsi” Public Union.
The parties exchanged views on possible areas for further expanding ties through youth diplomacy, cultural exchanges, public initiatives, and reciprocal visits.
It was noted that such efforts contribute to strengthening direct communication and the exchange of experience between Azerbaijani and Israeli youth, as well as creating new opportunities for cooperation between civil society organizations of the two countries.
The meetings and presentations held during the “Gənclərin Töhfəsi” Public Union’s visit to Israel drew attention as part of ongoing initiatives aimed at developing humanitarian and civil society ties between the two countries.
