Almaty – Doha: Surged onto the global tourism spotlight at Qatar Travel Mart 2025, held from November 24 to 26 in Doha, commanding attention with a bold and compelling showcase of its unique appeal. Against the backdrop of one of the Middle East’s most influential travel exhibitions, the city positioned itself as a rising powerhouse—leveraging its breathtaking nature, world-class infrastructure, and fast-growing international connectivity to capture the interest of key industry leaders and new markets across the region.

A cornerstone of Kazakhstan’s policy is its commitment to the principles of sustainability and equal opportunity, viewing tourism as a priority for economic diversification. In the first nine months of 2025, the country welcomed over 12 million foreign visitors, and Almaty experienced a steady increase in interest from both international and domestic tourists.

The city of Almaty has completed its participation in one of the region’s largest tourism exhibitions Qatar Travel Mart 2025, held from November 24 to 26 in Doha, Qatar. The event brought together tourism industry professionals from more than 60 countries and became an important platform for strengthening international ties, presenting the city’s tourism potential, and entering new markets.

150 B2B Meetings

Almaty was presented as a year-round travel destination that combines rich natural landscapes, modern conditions for active recreation, wellness opportunities, gastronomic experiences, and a well-developed infrastructure for business events.

During the exhibition, the Almaty delegation held more than 150 B2B meetings, resulting in preliminary cooperation agreements with leading regional tour operators and airlines.

According to representatives of Almaty’s Tourism Department, Middle Eastern markets are considered strategically important for inbound tourism development, especially during the summer season. “For tourists from this region, nature is a key attraction, and Almaty with its mountains, lakes, green parks, and cool summer climate perfectly meets these expectations. We see growing interest from Arab countries and intend to continue actively developing it,” the delegation noted.

The Almaty delegation included representatives of the hotel industry, DMC companies, tour operators, wellness and medical tourism organizations, as well as participants promoting business and cultural tourism. (The participating companies at the stand may be listed by name if needed.)

Participation in QTM 2025 was part of a long-term strategy to promote Almaty in priority international markets. The next stage will focus on actively developing partnerships, implementing joint initiatives, and building sustained interest among tourists from the Gulf countries in Almaty as a comfortable, safe, and naturally attractive destination.

Almaty Hosted Great Conference

On October 22 and 23, 2025, Almaty hosted a meeting of experts, entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organizations working in tourism development and supporting women in the sector. The event was organized by the Almaty City Tourism Department, the Almaty Tourism Bureau, the Kazakhstan National Tourism Company, and the United Nations Tourism Organization, with support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Nearly 400 participants from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Tajikistan, and Moldova, including representatives from international organizations, attended.

The conference was held as a comprehensive international forum. Participants had programs, and the sessions were accompanied by simultaneous interpretation in three languages. Headphones were provided to everyone. Regular breaks and coffee breaks were scheduled between sessions, allowing participants to socialize informally, discuss what they had heard, and exchange information.
