“Each election process in which citizens choose their representatives is very important for the democratic development of the country. I am sure that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be a positive step for the strengthening of democracy in the country,” Journalist Zaman Bajwa, executive director of Pakistan’s Kashmir Youth Forum think tank, told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.
According to the journalist, the elections to be held on September 1 will be a historic event because the process will cover the entire territory of Azerbaijan for the first time.
“Elections will also be held in territories that have already been liberated from occupation. Azerbaijani citizens who have returned to those regions will exercise their electoral rights for the first time in their native lands. In addition, the holding of elections one month before COP29 should be appreciated. Because this factor has a positive impact on the world community regarding democracy in the country,” Pakistani journalist said.
Zaman Bajwa stressed that he is always happy about the positive political events taking place in Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan is a fraternal country and a strategic partner of Pakistan. Therefore, we wish success to the people of Azerbaijan in the parliamentary elections to be held on September 1,” Zaman Bajwa concluded.
